Well Done HMP Shrewsbury!

Recycled lock gates are being used by prisoners at a Shropshire jail to make gifts to be sold for charity. The Canal and River Trust donated old wooden lock gates from the Montgomery Canal restoration project to be used by inmates at HMP Shrewsbury. The prisoners are part of a project aimed at preventing reoffending. Prison chaplain Bob Wiltshire said: "Our guys make lots of different products from this old oak that's been in water for between 25 to 30 years." The gifts produced by the prisoners include bird-boxes, notice boards and benches.
