Brit's Death Penalty Funding Battle Lost



Lindsay Sandiford will not have the appeal against her death penalty in Indonesia funded by Britain, the High Court has ruled.

A British grandmother has lost a legal battle over the UK Government's refusal to fund her appeal against a death sentence imposed by an Indonesian court for drug smuggling.Two judges in London refused to declare unlawful a Foreign and Commonwealth Office decision not to pay for "an adequate lawyer" to represent Lindsay Sandiford, 56, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
