Children's Commissioner: Don't let prisoners' children become crime's invisible victims

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales is warning that children of prisoners are in danger of becoming “invisible victims of crime”. Keith Towler is backing a campaign for more support and help from the government to so children of people in jail are given their right to family life. The campaign by a number of charities calling on the Welsh and UK governments for a three point “agenda of action” for prisoners’ children. They are asking for family impact assessments of offenders and their children at all stages of the criminal justice process, children’s advocates in all prisons and a “voice in government”.
