I wasn't a bad parent - From mother of a prisoner

Dear Editor. I remember a few years ago when my son was sent to prison after going on trial.
It distressed me so much having to listen to what he did and I offered my sincere apologies to the victims. However, they turned on me and I had weeks of having my windows put through. I am still on anti-depressants and my son has ruined my life. I haven't been to see him in prison although he writes to me every other week or so and asks me. I just cannot seem to forgive him. I never thought he would end up where he is. He had an excellent upbringing but after a lot of research and soul searching, I have found out that this can happen to anyone. A lot of people slate crime for bad parenting, well to those who think this is right, think again!
