Prison officers held in payments probe

Two serving prison officers have been arrested and later bailed by police investigating inappropriate payments to public officials, Scotland Yard said. The men - a 52-year-old and a 26-year-old - were held at their home in Kent at about 06:00 BST on Tuesday. They were both arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office, and other charges, and later bailed until the end of June.
