Bedroom tax protesters plan to sleep rough in Victoria Square on weekend of Bolton Food and Drink Festival

CAMPAIGNERS in Bolton opposing the “bedroom tax” are to sleep rough to raise awareness of homelessness. The planned protest will take place over the weekend of the Bolton Food and Drink Festival — but council bosses say they have worked with the campaigners to ensure there is no disruption. An estimated 50 mass “sleep outs” will take place across the UK on Saturday, August 24, with 1,300 people due to take part.
