Recipe For Disaster - From Alison Jones

Hi everyone. I can't see that any good can come from banning smoking in prisons. As an ex smoker myself, I see the point of protecting the non smokers from passive smoking BUT I've also been in the 'I'm gasping for a cigarette' scenario and I think it will be a recipe for disaster. You can't expect them to wait until they're outside on exercise because some don't get out very often and I also hear the ban would be including these areas anyway. I think the prisoners would just look for another outlet, perhaps illegal substances ? I also think it should be their right to choose. Yes, they're in prison for breaking the law and are being punished for that but the MOJ saying whether they can smoke or not ? I think it's a step too far. Kindest Regards
