Officer and manager at Forest Bank prison arrested as part of theft investigation

A officer and a manager at Forest Bank prison in Salford have been arrested by police as part of a theft investigation. Both men have been suspended from the prison pending the outcome of the Greater Manchester Police probe. The M.E.N. understands the investigation concerns allegations that computer games, CDs, DVD films and other items were stolen from inside the prison and sold on. Inmates at Forest Bank carry out supervised work to package goods for legal onward sale by companies. Police confirmed four people have been arrested as part of the investigation - three men and a woman.All four were held in police swoops on Tuesday and arrested on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods and money laundering.They were all questioned before released on police bail pending further enquiries.
