Prison staff are struggling to work because of the fumes from inmates puffing on so-called “legal highs”.A report by the Chief Inspector of Prisons for Scotland says new psychoactive substances (NPS) – as they’re now known – are affecting warders as well as cons. And the second-hand drug smoke from substances such as Spice is hampering their ability to do their jobs. Now, prison bosses are putting plans in place to halt the growing popularity of the drugs inside Scotland’s jails. The issue is highlighted in HM Inspectorate of Prisons for Scotland inspection of HMP Perth, published Wednesday.
